What to Expect

• First Methodist has two Sunday morning worship services; Chapel Worship at 8:30am in Hopkins Chapel and Traditional Worship at 11:00am in the sanctuary.
• Our services are about one hour in length. Our atmosphere is casual and friendly. Some folks wear suits or dresses. Some folks wear jeans.
• We celebrate Holy Communion on the first Sunday of each month. 
• Children are always welcome, but a nursery is available.

• Our Sunday school classes are held between the worship services, from 9:45 – 10:45am. 

 Chapel Worship

Chapel Worship is held in lovely Hopkins Chapel, a smaller, more intimate setting. While the Scripture and sermons are the same as our Traditional Worship, Chapel Worship will sing the classic hymns of our faith and offer a more interactive prayer time in which you can make your requests known.

Traditional Worship

Traditional Worship follows the liturgy of the United Methodist Church. Music is led by piano and pipe organ each Sunday, accompanied by a full choir. Children’s Time is offered at Traditional Worship. Partway through the service, kids are invited to come up to the front for a fun and short lesson from the pastor. After Children’s Time, kids through 2nd grade can attend Children’s Church with our Children’s Church Leader. Parents pick up their children after the service.
