Heifer International

Heifer International believes ending world hunger is possible and within in our grasp. Partners, such as the people of First Methodist Sherman are critical to this vision. The Heifer Project has been one of our missions for years. It remains an important mission as Heifer is described as a project that distributes animals, along with agricultural and values-based training, to families in need around the world as a means of providing self-sufficiency. Recipients must agree to “pass on the gift” by sharing animal offspring. First Methodist Sherman set a goal of raising enough money to purchase an “ark” of livestock as well as the education people need to improve their lives in sustainable ways. In the coming months we will have many opportunities for you to participate in this special project including, a noisy offering by our children’s ministry. You can also give by writing a check with “Heifer” in the notes portion and dropping it in the offering plate or church office. The impact of this partnership is profound and plays an important role in the struggle against hunger and poverty.Fullscreen-capture-3302013-42811-PM-001
